MARK WARE

Mark has worked at Board Director level in STM and business publishing and for online/elearning companies. Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 2003, he held positions as:

• founder/Director of Ingenta’s CPD/elearning division. In this role he researched and developed an online platform to support Continuing Professional Development and associated elearning. The main focus was on the healthcare sector, as well as other professions such as accountancy and engineering. An overview of some of the background research was published in the journal Learned Publishing in January 2003.
   
• Executive Director at CMPI (formerly Miller Freeman UK), where Mark ran the Healthcare division. As well as responsibility for two market-leading weekly titles for GPs and pharmacists (Pulse and Chemist & Druggist respectively), a database company (Healthcare Data Ltd) and other publishing assets, Mark also developed new online services for doctors and pharmacists.
   
• Publishing Director at IOP Publishing, where Mark was involved with most aspects of the business at different times, including journals, books, magazines, exhibitions and online. At IOPP Mark developed and launched a wide variety of products including magazines, exhibitions, websites and newsletters. In latter years he played a key business development and strategy role. Mark was also closely involved in the development and launch of a number of new research journals.
